A Supportive Resource for Your Community

I am Dan, a specialized movement instructor dedicated to bridging the gap between clinical care and at-home wellness. I currently teach at the YMCA and my local senior center, and I am expanding my reach through virtual group classes to ensure that everyone—regardless of their ability to commute—has access to high-quality, gentle movement.

My Qualifications & Professional Foundation

I believe that safety comes from a deep understanding of the body. My teaching is built on a foundation of world-class training and scientific study:

  • Tai Chi for Health Institute Certified: I am trained in the Dr. Paul Lam method for Arthritis and Fall Prevention. This program is recognized by the CDC and the Arthritis Foundation as a gold-standard, evidence-based intervention.

  • 200-Hour Certified Yoga Instructor: I earned my certification at Heartsong Yoga Center in a program led by Sheila Magalhaes and pioneered by Beryl Bender Birch. I focus on Classical Eight Limb Yoga, integrating mindful breathing with gentle movement.

  • ISSA Certified Group Fitness Instructor: My training in Functional Anatomy allows me to design group classes that respect skeletal alignment and joint health.

  • Years of Expertise: My specialty is Gentle and Restorative movement, refined through years of working heart-to-heart with the senior community.

Inclusive Group Classes for All Abilities

While my sessions are conducted in a friendly group format, the movements are intentionally designed to be inclusive and beneficial for those navigating specific challenges:

  • Community-Based Support: My group classes provide a space where individuals with Arthritis or Parkinson’s can move alongside others in a supportive, non-clinical environment.

  • Joint-Friendly Movement: We focus on gentle joint rotations and core stability to encourage movement without pain.

  • Stability & Rhythm: For those managing balance or neurological challenges, we emphasize rhythmic movement and wide-base gait stability.

  • Functional Strength: Every class focuses on the strength needed for independent living—like standing confidently from a chair.

The "Safety-First" Virtual Experience

I’ve made joining my online classes as simple as possible. We use Google Meet, which requires no software downloads—just one click and we are moving together in our virtual group.

My ApproachWhy It Works
Chair-OptionalEvery class includes a chair for seated support or as a stable "barre" for balance.
Anatomy-InformedI modify postures for the group to ensure they are gentle on the joints and safe for every body.
Modification-FocusedI provide real-time adjustments so every student feels successful and secure within the group.

My Commitment to Your Organization

I want to create a partnership that supports your mission as much as it supports your members. To show my commitment to your cause, I offer a New Member Donation Program:

The 50% Kickstart Donation:

For every new student referred by your organization, I will donate 50% of their very first purchase back to your organization.

  • Example: If a referred student buys a $100 class pass, I send a $50 donation to your organization. If they purchase a single $15 class, I send a $7.50 donation. This applies to the initial transaction for every new member you send my way.
